Journeyman Commercial HVAC Service Technician

Reports to: HVAC Service Supervisor

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:
HMC Service Company is currently seeking experienced Journeyman Commercial HVAC Service Technicians to join our team across multiple locations, including Louisville, Lexington, Eastern Kentucky, and Western Kentucky. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a company vehicle to and from customer sites to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC systems and equipment.

Success in this position requires the ability to work independently, demonstrate strong technical and diagnostic skills, and provide a high level of customer service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC equipment including rooftop units, split systems, boilers, chillers, and associated controls
  • Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability
  • Communicate with customers, HMC dispatch, and HMC estimating regarding job status to ensure schedules are maintained and expectations are clearly communicated
  • Complete service tickets and job documentation utilizing HMC’s remote field service and XOi apps
  • Identify and communicate repair and replacement opportunities to customers
  • Set a positive example for less experienced and/or new technicians
  • Work in a safe manner daily and ensure all safety measures are followed at all times
  • Work flexible hours including nights and weekends as part of an on-call rotation

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Journeyman HVAC License (or equivalent experience based on local/state requirements)
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across a variety of HVAC systems
  • Experience with controls and building automation systems is a plus
  • EPA Certification required
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Dependable and able to work independently
  • Ability to climb ladders, work from heights, and work in tight or confined spaces
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as part of an on-call rotation (frequency varies by
    department size)
