Project Description:
Heartland Payment Center, a 96,000 square foot state-of-the-art service center, features a Class “A” office space, training and conference rooms as well as call center workstations. The brick, glass and metal building maximizes the use of natural lighting for energy efficiency. The Building features 100% raised flooring with under-floor ventilation, 88 miles of electrical wiring, 10 miles of conduit and 152 miles of under-floor communications cabling.
Hussung Mechanical installed an HVAC system that incorporates an under floor pressurized plenum system throughout the entire facility for the heating and cooling needs with adjustable floor registers at each workstation allowing each employee to control the airflow at their workspace. This project utilizes a central plant with two-225 ton chillers along with cooling towers, pumping systems, condenser water storage tanks, and an underground piping system to the main facility. Hussung Mechanical offered for consideration eight specific scope revisions that ranged from mechanical equipment revisions to more efficient piping and ductwork methods that resulted in a savings of $227,000 to the owner without compromising the design team’s original intent. Hussung Mechanical completed this project in 12 months utilizing 10 pipefitters.
