Backflow is a reversal in the flow of water in a plumbing system. It is a fairly common problem caused by back pressure. Backflow can contaminate both your water supply and the main water line so most businesses are required to have a backflow prevention system. This is also commonly referred to as an RPZ (reduced pressure zone) assembly. Federal regulations require backflow assemblies for a variety of equipment that use water, such as refrigerators, ice boxes and water fountains and you must also have a PVB Backflow preventer on all irrigation systems.
At HMC, we are dedicated to protecting your water supply through comprehensive testing of backflow and RPZ (reduced pressure zone) assemblies. With a staff of highly trained and experienced assembly evaluators and state-of-the-art testing equipment, we have the tools to provide you with complete protection against water system contamination.
