Hussung Mechanical Contractors, Inc
. was founded in  1966 by brothers, George and Henry Hussung. A recent graduate engineer,  George’s son, David, joined the company in 1967 and assumed estimating  and project management responsibilities. In the early years, HMC was  successfully executing projects such as the Elizabethtown High School  and the Oxmoor and Bashford Manor Malls. These early projects ranged  anywhere from $5,000 to well over $1,000,000.

In  1986, HMC officially initiated the service side of the business, HMC  Service Company, focusing on preventive maintenance and ongoing  customer support. “We felt it was important to be able to service our  customer’s building once a project was complete. We wanted to continue  our partnerships with our customers based on the trust we earned during  the construction process,” states David L. Hussung.

Over  the past forty-four years, HMC has experienced tremendous growth and now  employs well over 340 individuals, including David’s son, David Clark  Hussung.  HMC’s growth has allowed them to undertake projects exceeding  $30,000,000, including Norton Brownsboro Hospital, Barret   Traditional Middle   School, Ft. Knox IBCT Barracks and UofL Biomedical Research Facility.
